Alexander Sharpe Bridal – Terms & Conditions

At Alexander Sharpe Bridal, our aim is to ensure your dress fits beautifully and feels as good as it looks. Every alteration is completed with exceptional care, precision and craftsmanship.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking. You’ll also be asked to sign at your first fitting to confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to them.

BODY SHAPE & WEIGHT MAINTENANCE

Your dress will be altered precisely to the fit and body shape pinned at your first fitting.

It is essential that your weight and body shape remain stable throughout the alteration process. Significant changes may require further alterations and additional appointments, which will depend on studio availability and incur additional charges.

Alexander Sharpe Bridal cannot accept responsibility for changes in weight or body shape once alterations have been completed or following collection of the dress.

FITTINGS & ALTERATION TIMELINE

First fittings must be booked no later than eight weeks before the wedding date. This allows sufficient time for fittings, alterations and finishing to be completed to our usual standard.

If you’re having bespoke full-length sleeves designed and made, your first fitting should be arranged approximately 12 weeks before your wedding. This allows time to source materials and complete the design and construction process.

Appointments booked closer to the wedding date are considered short-notice and will incur the additional fees outlined in Section 3. All short-notice work must be approved by Alexander Sharpe Bridal before an appointment is booked.

Please arrive on time for every fitting. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rearranged to avoid affecting other brides.

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to rearrange an appointment. If you’re unwell on the day, please contact us by 10am so that we may offer the appointment to another bride.

Appointments cannot be cancelled. Where sufficient notice is provided, we will offer an alternative appointment subject to availability.

SHORT-NOTICE & QUICK-TURNAROUND FEES

Bridal alterations require time, precision and careful scheduling. When a dress is brought to us closer to the wedding date, the work must be prioritised and completed within a condensed timeframe.

Where we’re able to accommodate short-notice work, the following fees will apply:

First fitting booked:

• Within 7 weeks of the wedding — 10% added to the alteration balance
• Within 5 weeks of the wedding — 25% added to the alteration balance
• Within 3 weeks of the wedding — 50% added to the alteration balance
• Within 2 weeks of the wedding — 100% added to the alteration balance

Short-notice fees apply to alteration & bespoke work only and do not apply to fitting or appointment fees.

Short-notice and quick-turnaround work is accepted only where studio capacity allows and must be approved by Alexander Sharpe Bridal before booking.

SHOES, UNDERGARMENTS, UNDERSKIRTS & HEMS

Your wedding-day shoes and the correct underskirt, where required, must be brought to your first fitting.

The underskirt must be the exact style and size you intend to wear on your wedding day.

We do not estimate hems. Even a small difference in heel height or underskirt fullness can alter the finished length of the dress.

If the correct shoes or underskirt are not available, we will be unable to mark the hem and your fitting will need to be rearranged.

Please also wear or bring the underwear, shapewear and support garments you intend to wear on your wedding day. A change of undergarments after the fitting may affect the finished fit of your dress.

PAYMENTS & AGREED ALTERATIONS

Full payment for alterations is required at your first fitting before any work begins.

We accept card payments, bank transfer and cash. We do not accept cheques or payment using American Express,

Alterations will be completed according to the fit, design and pin marks agreed at your first fitting.

Any additional alterations, tighter fitting requests or new design changes requested after the first fitting will be assessed and quoted separately. Additional work will begin only once the price and timeframe have been agreed.

QUALITY, DRESS CONSTRUCTION & CARE

Every dress is handled and altered with the utmost care.

The final fit and finish may be influenced by the dress’s original design, construction, seam allowances, fabric and detailing. Where there are technical limitations, these will be explained wherever possible.

Once your dress has been collected and leaves the studio, Alexander Sharpe Bridal is no longer responsible for its care, storage, handling or transportation.

We recommend adding your wedding dress to your home insurance as a special item for additional peace of mind.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS & STUDIO CONDUCT

Alexander Sharpe Bridal is committed to providing a calm, respectful and welcoming environment for every bride, guest and member of staff.

Courtesy and kindness are at the heart of our studio.

In line with our duty of care to clients and staff, we cannot tolerate bullying, abusive language, rudeness, intimidation, aggression, threatening behaviour or violence.

If this occurs, Alexander Sharpe Bridal reserves the right to refuse entry to the studio, end an appointment, refuse further service and bring the working relationship to an end.

CANCELLATIONS, WITHDRAWAL & GUARANTEE

All bookings are final and fitting fees are non-refundable.

Appointments cannot be cancelled. They may be moved to an alternative available appointment where at least 48 hours’ notice has been provided.

If you decide not to proceed after your fitting or once alteration work has begun, all payments already made remain non-refundable.

If work is stopped before completion, the dress may need to be collected in its current condition.

Alexander Sharpe Bridal offers a seven-day guarantee from the date of collection for any concerns to be raised.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you have a concern so we have the opportunity to inspect the dress and, where appropriate, address it before the wedding.

After the seven-day period, additional adjustments cannot be guaranteed due to existing studio commitments and wedding timelines.

ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS

When booking your first fitting through our private booking system, you’ll be required to read and accept these Terms & Conditions before your appointment can be confirmed.

Acceptance is provided through a mandatory tick box at the point of booking.

You’ll also be asked to read and sign the Terms & Conditions at your first fitting to confirm your understanding and agreement.

By booking an appointment and leaving your dress with Alexander Sharpe Bridal, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
