Alexander Sharpe Bridal – Terms & Conditions
At Alexander Sharpe Bridal, our aim is to ensure your dress fits flawlessly and feels as beautiful as it looks. Every alteration is carried out with the utmost care and craftsmanship. To achieve the very best results, we kindly ask that you read and agree to the following terms when booking your fittings – you will also be asked to sign that you have read and understood our T&Cs at the studio on your first fitting.
1. Body Shape & Measurements
• For the best possible fit, we ask that your body shape and weight remain stable between fittings. Significant changes may require additional appointments, which will depend on our availability and may involve an extra charge.
• Please note that we cannot take responsibility for changes in body shape once alterations have been carried out or after collection.
2. Fittings & Timeline
• First fittings must be booked no later than 8 weeks before the wedding date. This requirement is clearly displayed within our online booking system.
• If you are having bespoke full-length sleeves designed and made, your first fitting should be booked 12 weeks before your wedding, so we can start ordering fabric and begin the sleeve design process.
• In certain circumstances (such as illness, pregnancy, or unexpected changes), we may be able to offer a quick turnaround service. This must be agreed by Alexander Sharpe Bridal before booking and will incur a fee see below section 3.
• Please arrive on time for your fittings. If you are running more than 15 minutes late, we may need to rebook your appointment to avoid delays for other brides.
• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to rearrange. If you are unwell on the day, please let us know by 10am so that we may offer the slot to another bride.
3. Short Notice - Quick Turnaround Fees
First fittings must be booked no later than 8 weeks before the wedding date. This requirement is clearly displayed within our online booking system. This allows the appropriate time for fittings, alterations and finishing to be carried out to our usual standard. Any fittings booked outside of these guidelines are considered short-notice/quick turnaround and will incur additional fees, as outlined above, subject to studio availability.
Bridal alterations take time, precision and careful scheduling. When a dress is brought to us close to the wedding date, the work needs to be prioritised within a condensed timeframe. Where we’re able to accommodate this, a short-notice/quick turnaround fee applies.
First fitting booked:
• within 7 weeks of the wedding – 10% added to alteration balance
• within 5 weeks of the wedding – 25% added to alteration balance
• within 3 weeks of the wedding – 50% added to alteration balance
• within 2 weeks of the wedding – 100% added to alteration balance
This adjustment applies to alteration work only and does not apply to fitting or appointment fees.
Short-notice/quick turnaround work is accepted only where studio capacity allows and is applied consistently.
4. Shoes, Underskirts & Hems
• To achieve an accurate hem, your wedding day shoes and the correct underskirt must be brought to your fitting.
• If your dress design requires an underskirt, it must be the exact style and size you intend to wear on your wedding day.
• We do not “estimate” hems – even the smallest change in heel height or underskirt fullness can alter the finished length.
• If these items are not available, we will rebook your fitting for another date when they are ready.
5. Payments & Alterations
• Full payment for alterations is required at your first fitting before work begins.
• We accept card payments (excluding American Express), bank transfer, or cash.
• Alterations will be carried out as agreed during your consultation. Any new design changes requested later will be quoted separately and agreed before proceeding.
6. Quality & Dress Care
• Every dress is handled with the utmost care. The final fit, however, may also be influenced by the original design and fabric of your gown.
• Once your dress leaves our studio, we are no longer responsible for its care. We recommend adding it to your home insurance under “special items” for peace of mind.
7. Professional Standards
At Alexander Sharpe Bridal, we are dedicated to creating a calm, respectful, and welcoming environment for every bride. Courtesy and kindness are at the heart of our work. In line with UK Health & Safety legislation and our duty of care to both clients and staff, we cannot tolerate bullying, rudeness, aggression, or violent behaviour. Should this occur, we reserve the right to refuse service, entrance to the studio and bring our contract to an end.
8. Cancellations & Guarantee
• If you choose not to proceed once work has begun, payments already made are non-refundable.
• We offer a 7-day guarantee from the date of collection for you to raise any concerns. After this period, further adjustments cannot be guaranteed due to wedding timelines.
9. Terms & Conditions acknowledgement:
When booking a first fitting through our online system, brides are required to read and accept our Terms & Conditions before the appointment can be booked. These Terms & Conditions must be actively agreed to at the point of booking via a mandatory tick box. Brides are also asked to re-read the Terms & Conditions prior to their first fitting to ensure full understanding. At the appointment, a signature is required to confirm agreement with the Terms & Conditions.
By booking an appointment, brides confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
✨ Our Promise: At Alexander Sharpe Bridal, every stitch is made with precision, care, and love – ensuring you feel your most confident, elegant, and radiant on your wedding day.
