Our alteration process is built around two focused appointments: your first fitting and your refit/dress rehearsal.
Your first fitting will usually take place around eight weeks before your wedding, with your second appointment approximately four weeks later.
Before we can book you in, please send us your wedding date, dress details and clear photos through our contact form. We will assess the work required, recommend the right appointment timeframe and send you a private booking link.
The £75 fitting fee covers both appointments. Weight maintenance is essential from your first fitting, as your dress will be altered precisely to the shape pinned.
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Your first fitting is a focused, technical appointment where we assess your dress, discuss exactly what you want and precisely pin every alteration.
Please bring:
- Your wedding dress
- Your wedding-day shoes
- Your intended underwear
- Reference images for any redesign ideas
Your shoes are essential - we cannot accurately mark your hem without them.
Please attend alone or with one guest so we can focus completely on you and your dress. Veils, jewellery and styling are saved for your second appointment, when the alterations are complete.
Your alteration costs will be confirmed, your refit arranged and your dress left safely with us. The alteration balance is payable at this appointment or after the invoice is sent the next day.
Second Fitting - Duration 30 minutes
Your completed dress will be refitted and every alteration carefully checked. Please bring your wedding-day shoes and underwear again, along with your veil and jewellery if you’d like to see the full look together.
You’re welcome to bring up to two key people from your bridal party. We’ll show them how to dress you, fasten every detail and manage your train and bustle while you practise walking, sitting and holding your bouquet.
Your dress will normally be ready to take home following this appointment. If a small refinement is needed, we’ll arrange a brief additional fitting.
