Creativity has shaped my entire life. Coming from a family immersed in the arts, I grew up surrounded by designers, painters and makers, which naturally led me into fashion. I went on to study Fashion Design, followed by a Master’s in Fashion Atelier specialising in couture construction, with additional training at Central Saint Martins to refine my pattern-cutting and high-fashion finishing techniques. During my graduate show, I was nominated for the River Island Gold Award for Womenswear, a highlight that marked the beginning of my professional journey.

My early career took me to London, working as a designer and travelling to India with buyers to oversee collections and implement design changes. This role demanded absolute precision and strengthened my technical understanding of fit, structure and silhouette. When my children were young, I continued working from home, designing and creating bespoke bridal dresses which sparked my deep love of bridal craftsmanship.

Before establishing Alexander Sharpe Bridal, I spent several years teaching couture techniques, tailoring and clothesmaking within Kent Adult Education, as well as running my own specialist courses. Teaching elevated my technical skill even further; you truly master couture construction when you can confidently teach it.

Alongside my fashion work, I supported my father’s gallery, overseeing exhibitions, visual design and promotional materials. That blend of creativity, structure and presentation shapes the calm, detail-focused environment my brides experience today.

In 2025, I was honoured to win Seamstress of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards, a recognition that reflects my dedication to exceptional craftsmanship and the trust brides place in my work.

Today, ASB is supported by a small, trusted team who work alongside me to ensure every bride receives the same couture-level standard. I personally oversee all design decisions, fit direction and couture detailing, while my team assist with the meticulous work that brings each dress to life.

Together, we create a studio experience that is calm, welcoming and highly specialised. With this background in couture, fashion design and decades of hands-on experience, I specialise in transforming dresses into perfectly tailored works of art.
